About Us

Buckeye Goldens started in 1975 with the purchase of a male Golden named Thumper (became Ch. Sun Dance's Golden Thumper,CDX WC) as a 4-H project. As with most Golden owners one just was not enough and soon several more joined the family. In 1983 the first litter was born out of Ch. Buckeye Fox Rock Joshua bred to Butterblac's Double Dutch. Two females were kept, Tabetha and Samantha and they became the foundation for Buckeye Goldens. Little did I know that 30 years later I would still be breeding and showing dogs from those same bloodlines.
After meeting and marrying John in 1992 we moved to a 50 acre farm in rural Knox County Ohio. It is named Pheasant Run and is where we live with our daughters, Mary Claire and Meredith, 10 Goldens, 5 cats, and 2 horses.
Breeding Goldens is our hobby....NOT a business and we pride ourselves in breeding wonderful healthy happy versatile dogs. All breeding stock is OFA clear for hip and elbows, Cardiologist and Opthamologist clear. Pets, conformation, obedience, field, agility, therapy......they do it all.
